Hi, I am Naomi
My name is Naomi Peprah the CEO and founder of Nspedkids and the creator of behaviour changers using six Australian animals that exhibit positive characteristics to change people’s behaviour. As a special education teacher, I had many students who struggled to regulate their behaviours and emotions which ended them up in jail and detention centres. These factors affected their lives and freedom. It was this experience that motivated me to come out with positive behaviour changers using animals that have extremely positive characteristics that they can emulate. I started using these animal changers in my classroom and it yielded to an incredibly significant result for example, increasing their social engagement, improved feelings of self-worth, satisfying their sensory needs by touching a replica of these animals and the visuals that comes with it. The animal characteristics mood changers are an evidence-based cognitive-behavioural approach that can be used by all professionals dealing with people living with a disability. I have tirelessly created lesson materials and trainings all over the world to equip everyone with to use this framework without a struggle.
